Wedding Date: 21/11/2009
Location: Heathwood, QLD
I was on a job interview at the Coffee Club in Milton and Tom spotted me on his lunch break. As he was leaving he handed his business card to a waiter and asked that they pass it on to me, which out of pure luck they did!
We had planned to spend the weekend at my parentís holiday apartment at Palm Beach and when we were arrived the whole living room was decorated with candles and rose petals. There was soft romantic music playing and a delicious cheese platter set up with two glasses of champagne. Next to this was a ring box. Tom got down on one knee and after he told me how much he loved me in his own words, proposed!
I wore a crisp white silk taffeta sweetheart strapless dress, which had an open back with lacing and a tonne of lace on the bodice and hips with Swarovski crystals and beads. The skirt bunched up on my right hip and was a fairly full skirt with a train. Just like a princess!
I wore some stunning chandelier style earrings I found at Bridal Couture in the city, and that was enough for the jewellery side of things! I also wore a fingertip length veil which had a few crystals on it.
and Groomsmen's Attire
Tom wore a very black suit with a crisp white shirt, silk white tie and matching silk white stripped vest. Very smart! The Groomsmen were similar except that they had a dark grey vest and black tie. Tom had a large white rose on his buttonhole and the groomsmen had smaller pink roses.
Dresses & Accessories:
I chose a pretty pink for the bridesmaids that matched the pink and white lilies that they had in their bouquets. They were full-length and they wore long-drop earrings which complimented their up-styles and dress colour.
We used Divine Wedding Flowers who did a fabulous job! I had a large tear-drop bouquet of small pink roses and white lilyís and white singapore orchids and the bridesmaid's had the opposite as me with pink lilies and small white roses.
Theme & Colours:
We chose pink, silver and white as the theme. My mum hand-made all the invitations and guest cake boxes which were just stunning! Everything tied in beautifully.
Venue & Details:
We had a Christian wedding ceremony at The Chapel at the Hyatt Sanctuary Cove which was led by Pastor Paul Geerling. It went for approximately 40 minutes and there were 90 guests in total.
Venue & Details:
We had our reception at Links Hope Island in the main Fountain Court. It was absolutely stunning and we arranged for dry ice to be used within the fountain as the Bridal Party were announced, which looked magnificent!
We hired a stretch limousine; this was ALOT of fun for the Bridal Party. We had champagne as we were driven from each photo location!
My mother hand-made the bomboniere to match in with the wedding invitations. The bomboniere were small cup cake boxes labeling the guestís names on each individual box and a white organza bon-bon filled with small pink chocolate love hearts.
We had a 4 tiered cup-cake stand with a regular cake on top for cutting purposes. They were in silver cup-cake flans and decorated with pink and white icing with cutesy designs such as love hearts, butterflies and lilies.
We hired a Photobooth which was enjoyed enormously by all the guests and we had a DJ for the entire night!
We honeymooned in Fiji, which included a week at a luxury resort followed by a cruise through the Yasawa islands! We were definitely relaxed by the end of it!
The Photobooth was HEAPS of fun, along with the Limo ride during the photoshoot! I honestly loved every single moment of our special day and would not change a thing!
Brides to Be:
Do your best to enjoy every single minute of the lead up to your special day. It is so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of the day that you can forget to soak it all up and enjoy it. It is over within a flash so take in every single moment!
