Wedding Date: 03/10/2009
Location: Tumbulgum, NSW
Nothing too memorable. We met through friends. We were both with other people at the time.
While swimming in the pool, Michael pretended he had cut himself on some glass on the bottom of the pool and went down to get it and came back up with a ring!
A strapless, off-white mermaid style gown by Winnie at Winnie Bridal in Brisbane. It had pearl buttons down the back, and swarovski crystals on french lace. Under the lace I had a thick white ribbon which I changed to a dusty pink one for the reception.
My shoes were from Midas and were beautiful with a diamonte metal bow. I also had Diamonte sparkly earrings and wore a veil.
and Groomsmen's Attire
The groom and groomsmen all wore matching charcoal coloured suits with a white pinstripe shirt and a cream rose buttonhole.
Dresses & Accessories:
The girls dresses were from powerhouse. They were perfect. We matched the shoes so easily. The shoes were made out of the same material as the dress and then the next shop we walked into we found tea stained roses for their hair. I added in the fascinator mesh later. Bridesmaids wore pearl/diamonte earrings, I bought them as a gift.
Flowers were soft pastel colours for the girls and all white for myself. The flowers were lysianthus, large open roses and freesias.
Theme & Colours:
The theme was romantic and feminine and the colours were dusty pink, cream and champagne.
Venue & Details:
We were married at the Sacred Heart Church in Murwillumbah which is the church associated with the school that I teach at. My year 2 students were guests at the ceremony. Being from Catholic families our ceremony was included in a full length mass.
Venue & Details:
The reception was held at Penny Ridge Resort at Bilambil. It is up on a hill top and looks out to the ocean. We had a marquee for 130 people.
A white limousine. We also had a helicopter take Michael and I from the ceremony to a secret location for some photos.
A 3 tier, assorted mud cake with white chocolate shards around the sides and a dusty pink ribbon around the bottom. It also had a posy of flowers on top.
Cliffhangers DJ company.
None as yet.
Having the students at my wedding, going in a helicopter with just Michael and I, Michael asking me where the priest was when I reached the end of the aisle and the wind storm that threatened to end the wedding but was over in 20 minutes. It was memorable.
Brides to Be:
Savour every moment starting from the couple of days before because unfortunately you don't get to do it again, and you'll want to.
