Wedding Date: 07/11/2009
Location: Ashgrove, QLD
Pete and I met through friends at university.
Pete surprised me and took me away for a weekend to a rainforest retreat. On our first night there he asked whether I wanted to go for a walk along one of the tracks. About half way down the path we came across a candlelit table for two with champagne, roses and dinner by a creek in the middle of the rainforest that he had organised. He proposed halfway through the dinner.

Dresses & Accessories:
The girls wore cocktail length amethyst dresses with silver peeptoe shoes with a vintage look diamante broach on the front.
Our best man's mum, who makes jewelery in her spare time, was kind enough to offer to make the bridesmaids earrings which were beautiful.
My bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets were created by Wedding Stems and were advance roses, white freesias, white tulips and berries while the boys wore advance rose buttonholes.
Theme & Colours:
Our theme was classic elegance which was based around cream roses. Our colours were cream and amethyst.
Venue & Details:
Our ceremony was held at Broadway Chapel in Wooloongabba. We had Stirling Strings, a string quartet and the lovely Anne Campbell who gave a wonderful ceremony.
We had two gorgeous arrangements of cream roses behind the alter and readings by Pete's two sisters.
Venue & Details:
Our reception was held at Stamford Plaza in the Grand Ballroom. We had a signature cocktail, Purple Haze, for guests at the pre-dinner drinks and Stirling Strings string trio playing prior to the reception starting.
For our reception entertainment we had Soul Therapy, a three piece band who provided amazing music all night! Our centerpieces were tall vases with cream roses arrangements.
A 1950's white jag from Tic Tac Tours and a White Chrysler Super Stretch 11 seat limousine from Golden Gate Limousines. As most of our guests were from out of town we arranged a bus to take guests from the ceremony to the reception (also from Tic Tac Tours).
We gave the ladies at the wedding Piccolos of Rose Moet and chocolates by Chocolate Works while the men received a small bottle of Chivas Regal scotch and chocolates.
Cake That! made our amazing 4 tier cake with fresh cream roses between each tier. Each tier were different flavours of mud cake including white chocolate mud, peppermint mud, traditional mud and hazelnut mud.
Stirling Strings for our ceremony and pre-dinner drinks and Soul Therapy for our reception. We also had a slideshow presentation of photos from the day during the reception by Ben and Justine Rugers of Xsight Photography which was amazing!
Two weeks in the Maldives in an over water bungalow with a 4 day stopover in Singapore on the way home.
We had both our grandmothers sign our wedding certificate as witnesses and our mothers hand us our rings in the ceremony which are special memories.
We also had a moment by ourselves during the day when we traveled to the photo locations by ourselves in one of the wedding cars which was time where we could take a moment to enjoy the day.
Another special memory was the photo slideshow at the reception.
Brides to Be:
Enjoy the day and don't stress! What happens will happen and you can't control everything. Just sit back and take in everything and enjoy the results of all your planning!
